Description

Supported by 3M Health Care

Incontinence-associated dermatitis is a prevalent but largely preventable complication occurring in all care settings. For management of severe (Category 2) IAD, traditional moisture barriers pastes and ointments have been the mainstay of care but have significant limitations for both the patient and nurse. In this presentation, we will explore the etiology of Category 2 skin damage. An exciting new technology that can prevent, stop and reverse IAD, 3M Cavilon Advanced Skin Protectant will be introduced. Expert WOC Nurses will present their clinical experience using this novel, practice changing product.

*This symposia session requires pre-registration to attend. Space is limited.*

Learning Objectives

The participant will be able to:
1. Describe the IAD Severity Categorization tool.
2. Articulate key risk factors for development of Category 2 IAD and why consideration of risk is important.
3. Explain the benefits of Cavilon Advanced Skin Protectant’s unique formula.
4. Describe how Cavilon Advanced Skin Protectant can be used within a structured skin care regimen.
